Jiaozuo: Electricity Empowers Small Hair Ties to Unlock a Big Market

On April 8, at the Hair Tie Accessory Industrial Park in Wutou Village, Ziling Town, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, China, staff members from the Shennongshan Central Power Supply Station of the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company were actively inspecting electrical equipment in the hair tie production workshops to identify potential safety hazards.

"Last month, you helped us resolve the power supply issue in our park, and this month, you're here again to inspect electrical safety. Your service is truly considerate," said Wu Shuangqing, head of Wutou Village.

Wutou Village produces 28,000 tons of hair ties annually, with an annual output value of 2.1 billion yuan. This village accounts for 80% of China's hair accessories market. Its hair tie products are exported to over 80 countries and regions. In May 2024, Ziling Town began the second phase of the hair tie accessories industrial park project, which is set to install two 600 kVA transformers. The State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company promptly sent staff to the site for an inspection, formulated a reasonable power supply construction plan, and ensured a reliable electricity supply during the project construction.

The State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company has innovated a grid-based service model and established a power service team for the industrial park. This team offers timely energy-saving technical support, rapid emergency repairs, and other services designed to meet the diverse needs of customers.

As of now, the first phase of the Hair Tie Accessories Industrial Park has an annual electricity consumption of 1.2 million kilowatt-hours (kWh). In the next step, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company will continue to monitor the electricity demand for the development of rural characteristic industries, dynamically optimize its power service measures, and inject an inexhaustible driving force into rural revitalization with more reliable electricity supply and higher-quality services.
