On the morning of May 13, the 5th Huaihe River Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference officially opened, bringing together nearly 300 prominent overseas Chinese leaders and entrepreneur representatives.

During the conference, Hu Guangjie, Member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, remarked that, driven by a series of major national strategies, regions along the Huaihe River are witnessing renewed vitality and dynamic development. Entrusted with new missions and expectations, the Huaihe River Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference is poised to realize the shared aspiration of “Connecting Jianghuai, Shaping the Future” along the scenic Huaihe River.
Hu also emphasized that overseas Chinese affairs departments at all levels in the province should strengthen communication and cooperation with relevant departments in provinces and cities along the Huaihe River. These efforts should further enhance the conference’s role in pooling resources, while also providing high-quality services and fostering a supportive environment for overseas Chinese leaders and entrepreneurs.
Shi Zhijun, Secretary of the Huai’an Municipal Party Committee, stated, “Five years ago, as the first city to initiate and promote the national strategy of the Huaihe River Ecological Economic Belt, Huai’an proudly hosted the inaugural Huaihe River Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference. Since then, we have worked hand in hand with Chinese entrepreneurs from around the world, writing a remarkable chapter of cooperation built on mutual understanding, shared goals, and win-win results. Looking ahead, we will unswervingly expand high-level opening-up. We sincerely hope that both old and new friends will take this conference as an opportunity to exchange ideas, share industrial insights, and deepen cooperation.”
Guest representatives remarked that Huai’an is a city where historical heritage meets modern vitality. Its unique geographical advantages, well-established industrial infrastructure, and favorable business environment provide strong support for enterprise development. Looking to the future, major companies will use the Huaihe River Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference as a platform to explore tangible projects and cooperation opportunities, injecting fresh impetus into Huai’an’s high-quality development.
Lin Xiaoming, a member of the Standing Committee of the Huai’an Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Huai’an, gave a keynote on urban and industrial development. At the opening ceremony, a signing ceremony for major projects was also successfully held. Between January and April, Huai’an signed 339 projects, each exceeding 100 million yuan in investment, amounting to a total agreed investment of 171.3 billion yuan.
