On July 1, the 23rd National Work Conference of Social Science Associations from Provinces, Autonomous Regions, and Municipalities Nationwide convened in Hohhot. Themed "Contributing the Strength of Social Science Organizations to Further Advancing the Building of the Chinese National Community," the conference brought together over 170 participants, including representatives of social science associations and academic organizations, as well as media delegates from both the central government and Inner Mongolia, spanning 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country.
At the opening ceremony, Naribilige, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Yangtze River Scholar, and distinguished professor at Inner Mongolia Normal University, delivered a keynote speech titled “The Contemporary Value of Northern Border Culture in the Chinese National Community.” His report elaborated on the profound connotations and formation process of northern border culture, underscoring its vital roles in strengthening cultural identity, safeguarding border security, consolidating a strong sense of Chinese national community, advancing Chinese civilization, fostering the cultural industry, and building a culturally strong region. He proposed a development path for northern border culture by upholding traditions while fostering innovation, grounded in the people to achieve common cultural advancement, and enhancing mutual exchanges to promote global cultural exchange.
In the afternoon, participants were divided into four groups to engage in discussions focused on five key topics.
The closing ceremony was chaired by Zhu Xiaojun, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Inner Mongolia Federation of Social Sciences. The conference reviewed and adopted the Hohhot Consensus of the 23rd National Work Conference of Social Science Associations, building consensus on promoting the high-quality development of academic work by social science associations in the new era.
