Just before the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival (“Double Festival”) holiday, the Wangyue Street Commercial Complex in Xian’an District of Xianning, Hubei Province, was unveiled with a new look. The complex, transformed from a wet market that had operated for over 20 years, has become a modern urban landmark integrating shopping, dining, culture, and leisure, injecting new vitality into the old city district.

The commercial complex features a diverse range of businesses. High-power consumption in restaurant kitchens, stable power supply needs for esports equipment, and the 24-hour operation of smart parking lots all required careful advance planning of the electrical layout. From the project’s inception, State Grid Xianning Power Supply Company proactively engaged with the developer, forming a dedicated project team to collaborate with designers and contractors on a customized power solution.

Given the complex’s operational pattern of “daytime consumption and nighttime leisure,” State Grid Xianning Power Supply Company optimized its off-peak electricity usage plan, simplified procedures, and shortened processing time to ensure that businesses had power available upon opening—providing strong support for the rapid launch of the business district.

Around 8 PM, grid staff Zhang Qiao and Zhu Pengbo from the Gaoxin Yong’an Service Station led their service team back into the distribution room of the underground parking garage. Such nighttime inspections continued from the week before National Day until the end of the “Double Festival” holiday. State Grid Xianning Power Supply Company has established a mechanism of “weekly regular inspections plus special inspections during major holidays” and assembled a 24-hour emergency repair team to respond to any unexpected situations.

Cheng Yong, deputy head of the power supply expansion and installation team at State Grid Xianning Power Supply Company’s Gaoxin branch, explained that the newly commissioned 630 kVA transformer meets the current needs of 80% of businesses and can also handle future load growth.
