State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company Ensures “Zero Impact” on Customers During Equipment Replacement

On March 24, in Xiayi County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province, China, live-line workers from the State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company replaced switches and disconnectors on Pole #1 of the 10kV Xiaodong Line while under load. The operation achieved seamless power transition with zero service interruption, ensuring a reliable power supply for both residents and critical users in the area.

At the operation site, staff strictly adhered to standardized procedures. First, they implemented safety measures and inspected tools and equipment. Two aerial lift devices with insulating booms were extended, elevating the live-line workers to the operation areas. The workers skillfully carried out insulation shielding to ensure a safe and reliable working environment. Subsequently, a bypass power supply system was quickly activated to enable seamless load transfer, facilitating the replacement of pole-mounted switches and disconnectors. Ground and aerial workers coordinated seamlessly during the intensive five-hour operation. After safely removing the aging equipment, they installed and tested the new equipment, restoring the power system to normal.

The entire operation strictly followed live-line working procedures, achieving “zero service interruption” for customers. This exemplary implementation of standardized operations marks a significant step toward intelligent maintenance of Xiayi’s power grid.
