Recently, at the centralized maintenance site of the 10-kilovolt Lugong No. 1 line in Zhenping County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, China, staff members took advantage of the maintenance opportunity to simultaneously carry out "self-healing" construction on the line. This marks the 11th "self-healing" line completed by State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company in 2025.

Given the characteristics of the distribution lines in the area—including numerous connection points, wide coverage, long paths, and complex environments—the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has included the first 20 lines in the "self-healing" transformation scope, based on the maintenance plan, the line load, and the level of automation. At the beginning of 2025, a dedicated task force was established, consisting of multiple departments, including grid dispatch, operation and maintenance, and development and construction. The task force focused on automating the transformation of line connections, segmentation, major branch switches, and high-failure locations.

At the same time, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company established a model for simultaneously advancing "centralized maintenance + live-line operation." By fully utilizing technologies such as live-line work and taking advantage of opportunities like spring inspections and centralized maintenance, the company ensures rapid progress in self-healing distribution network construction.

"We will complete the construction of the first batch of 20 self-healing lines before the peak summer period arrives. By then, we will be able to reduce the recovery time for a single fault from hours to minutes and seconds, laying a solid foundation for the grid's smooth operation during the peak summer period," said Li Hongbo, Director of the Operation and Maintenance Department at the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company.

The company will steadily expand the construction of the "self-healing" power grid from a pilot phase to full coverage, effectively enhancing the intelligence of the distribution network and improving power supply reliability.
