From May 8 to 10, the 2025 Asian Canoe Sprint Championships were held at the Yaohu International Water Sports Center in Nanchang High-tech Zone. More than 390 top athletes and coaches from 19 Asian countries and regions, including China, Japan, South Korea, and India, gathered in Nanchang for intense competition. State Grid Nanchang Power Supply Company made all-out efforts to provide comprehensive power supply support for the event.
As a premier canoe sprint event in Asia and an official Grade-A competition, the championships featured 24 events across men’s, women’s, and mixed categories in both kayak and canoe disciplines, with races spanning 200m, 500m, and 1000m distances. The event served as an important platform for evaluating the competitive levels of participating countries and regions.
“This is a high-profile, heavyweight event. We are rigorously enforcing power security plans and emergency protocols to ensure the stable operation of electrical equipment,” said Liu Bin, a member of the power supply team.
To guarantee reliable electricity supply during the tournament, State Grid Nanchang Power Supply Company took proactive measures by planning ahead and implementing robust power security measures. During the preparatory phase, the company promptly established a dedicated task force, formulated contingency plans, and dispatched professionals to conduct thorough inspections of all relevant power lines and equipment, addressing any potential risks. Backup generator vehicles were stationed at the venue, with pre-operation tests completed to ensure immediate deployment if needed. Power supply personnel maintained high vigilance, closely monitoring generator operations and grid conditions to ensure uninterrupted power supply. (Text by Yi Shu)
