On May 21, we celebrated Grain Buds (Xiaoman), the second solar term of summer, which embodies the philosophical concepts of "fullness without overflow" and "fullness without excess". During this period, wheat grains gradually plump up, rainfall increases, and all things thrive in a state of modest abundance. Co-produced by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and CRI Online, the short video series "Beijing's Vibe of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Chinese Solar Terms" has released a new episode titled "Grain Buds". The episode highlights the Beijing-style cooking techniques recognized as intangible cultural heritage items, showcasing how the inheritors of these culinary heritage traditions artfully blend the culinary charm of this solar term into meticulously crafted dishes through masterful techniques.
