On May 19, the Power Transmission Branch of State Grid Huai’an Power Supply Company completed the relocation project of the 110-kV Zhu’an Line at the Sea-entry Channel, marking a key milestone in the line renovation work for the second phase of the Huaihe River Sea-entry Channel Project.

The Huaihe River, characterized by the topographic feature of being "high at both ends and low in the middle", poses a severe challenge to flood control in the basin. To address flood threats in the lower reaches of the river, the government launched the Huaihe River Sea-entry Channel Project and its second phase in 1999 and 2022, respectively. As a supporting component of this major national water conservancy project, the relocation required the repositioning of transmission lines passing through the planned channel area. This involved constructing approximately 1.1 km of transmission line and installing four iron towers. The project period overlaps both the flood season and high-temperature season, placing greater demands on construction quality and safety.

On that day, working personnel conducted ground wire deployment, optical cable disconnection, welding, and accessory installation, following the earlier installation of the iron towers.

It is reported that State Grid Huai’an Power Supply Company will complete renovation of the remaining 220-kV line in Huai’an during the second half of 2025. The implementation of this series of projects will provide solid support for the smooth progress of the second phase of the Huaihe River Sea-entry Channel Project. It will also further enhance the safe and reliable operation of the regional power grid and contribute to safer, greener, and more efficient development of the river basin.
