Taizhou, Zhejiang: Join “State Grid Green Ark Program” to Become Nature Guardians on International Day for Biological Diversity

On May 22, 2025, the 25th International Day for Biological Diversity was observed as scheduled. This year’s international theme, “Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development,” calls for the harmonious coexistence between humanity and the natural world to build a sustainable future.

On May 21, ahead of the International Day for Biological Diversity, State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company leveraged the State Grid’s “Green Power Ark” initiative, partnering with local environmental agencies to carry out biodiversity awareness activities targeting customers and sanitation workers. The initiative promoted biodiversity conservation through multi-faceted collaboration and raised public awareness about protecting natural species.

The “Green Power Ark” represents State Grid’s mission to empower green development while ensuring power supply. As a flagship program supporting China’s biodiversity conservation, it was launched in Zhejiang in 2022. The initiative focuses on protecting key habitats of endangered species by establishing green power supply systems in and around these areas, providing clean energy and digital tools to support biodiversity research and conservation.

On the same day, volunteers from State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company set up a “Green Power Ark” education corner in the service hall. It featured integrated displays, live explanations, and legal education. Exhibits on wildlife protection were displayed, and copies of the Wildlife Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China were distributed to visitors. Using real cases of illegal hunting and wildlife trade, volunteers explained legal responsibilities in plain language—guiding the public from legal awareness to lawful behavior. By using power service channels as a bridge, the activity integrated ecological protection into daily life, helping customers understand the interdependence between humans and wildlife, while strengthening legal protections and fostering societal harmony with nature.

Through the “Green Power Ark,” State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company continues to deeply integrate power services with ecological protection, transforming service halls into “green windows” that connect people with nature.
