“Zhejiang Week” Opens at the China Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka

On July 12, the “Zhejiang Week” series of events at the China Pavilion of World Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, officially opened.

The event is themed “Picturesque Zhejiang.” At the opening ceremony, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the concept “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Natural Resources released five case studies showcasing Zhejiang’s practices, presenting the province’s achievements in ecological civilization to the world.

On the day of the event, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism showcased the province’s cultural and tourism appeal through a presentation combining videos and live performances.

The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology gave a presentation on how technological innovation drives Zhejiang’s sustainable development practices and hosted the Zhejiang (China) Green Technology and Sustainable Development Promotion Conference.

On the same day, several exhibition and experience areas featuring various aspects of Zhejiang’s culture and lifestyle were set up inside the China Pavilion. The Masterpiece Zone showcased representative works by national and provincial-level Chinese craft masters. The Jiangnan Lifestyle Experience Zone displayed innovative products from renowned brands. The Interactive Experience Zone offered activities such as Song Dynasty tea whisking, Hangzhou embroidery demonstrations, and traditional Chinese herbal sachet making, attracting a large number of visitors.

The “Zhejiang Week” event lasts for three days, with “Hangzhou Day” and “Ningbo Day” taking place on July 13 and 14 respectively. In addition, concurrent events such as the Shaoxing Wine Exhibition, China-Japan Industrial Cooperation Exchange, and the Silk Exhibition held in Tokyo and other locations are also attracting widespread attention.
