Power Data Reveal How Dongtou Island Is Advancing “Upward, Innovative, and Green”

Power data serves as a “barometer” and “weathervane” of economic performance. In July 2025, Dongtou, in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, saw a year-on-year increase of 5.67% in total electricity consumption. From January to July, cumulative total electricity consumption grew 12.18% year-on-year. Industrial electricity consumption in July rose 19.66% year-on-year, with cumulative industrial electricity consumption up 22.87%, ranking first in Wenzhou across all four indicators.

State Grid Wenzhou Dongtou Power Supply Company continues to optimize the business environment for electricity consumption, focusing on building a modern power supply service system. The company has opened a “green channel” for the Zhejiang (East China) Deep-Sea Offshore Wind Power Hub project, pioneering a “full-chain green service” and tailoring power access solutions for a wind power industry cluster projected to exceed RMB 100 billion in annual output value, fully ensuring the project’s scheduled commissioning in 2026. Dongtou’s new energy vehicle charging facilities can serve more than 60,000 vehicle sessions annually. In 2024, local charging stations delivered an annual charging capacity of 3.47 million kWh, and from January to August 2025, they supplied 3.06 million kWh of electricity.

A series of power data highlights the momentum of “upward, innovative, and green” growth. Dongtou’s accelerating economic expansion is unlocking new potential, providing solid support for advancing the “Two Mountains” philosophy, narrowing gaps, and promoting shared prosperity. (By Zhang Hong)
