In recent years, the Xi'an High-tech Zone has remained committed to advancing high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and has been actively building a world-class ecosystem for innovation, steadily moving toward becoming a globally leading science and technology park.
The zone continues to promote the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial development. Its regional GDP has increased from CNY 200 billion to 300 billion, while the total industrial output value of enterprises above designated size has grown from CNY 200 billion to 400 billion. The advanced manufacturing sector has maintained an average annual growth rate of 24.7 percent, and strategic emerging industries have achieved an average annual growth rate of 17.7 percent. Eight key sectors — including photonics, artificial intelligence, and additive manufacturing — have been selected for China’s national program to cultivate new high-tech industries. The core industries of the digital economy have exceeded CNY 280 billion in scale, and the zone now ranks fifth among 178 national high-tech zones across China in overall strength.
