On November 24, the "China Travel · Roaming China" event — during which international anchors and influencers decode the vitality of Nansha—which was initiated by CRI Online, a key central news website, officially kicked off in Nansha, Guangzhou. Multilingual anchors, foreign influencers, and Gen Z youth from Germany, France, Russia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam and other countries gathered in Nansha and visited the GAC Science and Technology Museum. They explored the window into the "Smart Car City" and experienced the leap of China's automobile industry from "manufacturing" to "intelligent manufacturing".
Intelligent Connected Vehicle Exhibition Area of GAC Science and Technology Museum
In the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Exhibition Area of GAC Science and Technology Museum, an autonomous driving vehicle controlled by voice commands became the center of attention. The driver only needs to sit in the seat, view the real-time feedback from electronic cameras (showing the vehicle status and surroundings) on the front circular screen, and operate the entire vehicle via voice commands. Even more astonishing is the hidden steering wheel design, which only appears and takes over when the driver needs to drive. This design not only enhances convenience and safety but also signals a fundamental shift in human-vehicle interaction.
Mathias, a French influencer, said excitedly after the experience: "I just came back from the Guangzhou Auto Show and also tried other Chinese brand cars, but this concept car from GAC really impressed me—it doesn't even need a steering wheel and can be controlled directly by voice. This is hard to imagine in Europe." He also highlighted his recognition of the interior quality of Chinese cars: "In the past, Europeans always worried about the interior materials of Chinese cars, but now I see many use genuine leather and high-quality materials. This is a major breakthrough."
Viant, a Russian influencer, remarked: "Five years ago, nobody knew about Chinese cars. Seven years ago, Geely and BYD were still seen as ordinary brands. But now, Chinese cars are in Russia, the United States, Europe, Africa—my parents also drive Chinese cars." He pointed out that Chinese cars are not only good, but also affordable: "For cars with the same configuration, they may sell for 300,000 in Europe, but Chinese cars may only cost 100,000, yet the quality is no worse."
He also mentioned improvements in EV range: "In the past, electric vehicles could only run within cities, but now with a 1,000-kilometer range, driving back and forth between Guangzhou and Shenzhen several times is no problem." These words resonated with many foreign youths present, who said Chinese EVs are changing global perceptions of transportation.
Lai Yaming, an anchor from the German Department of the China Media Group, noted the broader application of autonomous driving technologies: "Today we see not only passenger cars but also trucks. If trucks can achieve autonomous driving in the future, logistics efficiency will increase significantly, and drivers will be freed from fatigue drives. Life will become more convenient." He emphasized that China's leadership in intelligent driving lies not only in technology but also in contributing to environmental protection: "In the face of global climate change, choosing such a technological development path is the right direction."
"No Technology, No GAC" is Fully Interpreted in GAC Science and Technology Museum
The slogan "No Technology, No GAC" is vividly demonstrated in the GAC Science and Technology Museum. From pure electric platforms to ultra-fast batteries, from intelligent connectivity to an energy ecosystem, GAC is advancing China's automobile industry to the forefront of global transformation with an end-to-end technological layout.
With the in-depth advancement of the "China Travel · Roaming China" event, young anchors and influencers from around the world have not only witnessed the technological strength of Chinese automobiles through the GAC Science and Technology Museum but also seen the vivid practice of Chinese-style modernization in Nansha. Here, technology blends with humanity, innovation coexists with openness, and a "Smart Car City" is quietly rising, becoming a new symbol for the world to understand China.
