"Recently, the weather has turned cold, so we must not let the heat generated by machine operations go to waste. We have been recovering the excess heat—using part for power generation and part for heating. As a result, our steam power generation equipment has been operating at full capacity, and we would appreciate your help in checking its condition," said Cai Yuguo, a representative of Zhejiang Huafeng Paper Technology Co., Ltd., during a recent on-site service visit by staff from State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power.

As a high-energy-consuming enterprise, cost reduction and efficiency improvement are crucial to Huafeng Paper's survival and development. Previously, the company faced high electricity consumption during production, while a significant amount of waste heat went unutilized. In 2022, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power proactively provided on-site guidance, helping the company optimize its waste heat recovery system and install steam power generation equipment. This enabled the majority of the waste heat to be converted into electricity for Huafeng's production and office operations, while the remaining waste heat continued to be used for heating—truly turning waste into a valuable resource.
Inside the workshop, staff examined the company's production scale and load characteristics while meticulously checking the operating parameters of the power generation equipment, the insulation of pipelines, and the safety protection devices. These efforts ensured the steam power generation unit remained in highly efficient and stable operation. Based on the company's recent production plans, the staff also offered suggestions on optimizing the operating schedule of the power generation unit and further leveraging the grid's off-peak electricity policies, helping the enterprise maximize economic benefits while ensuring production stability.
Today, "waste heat recovery" has not only become an "accelerator" for improving the quality and efficiency of enterprises but has also injected strong momentum into regional green and low-carbon transformation. (Yuan Fengyue)
