Shizhu County, Chongqing Selected Among China’s Top 100 Counties for County-Level Tourism Competitiveness in 2025

In September 2025, the China County Tourism Competitiveness Report 2025 was released in Beijing, revealing the list of China’s top 100 counties and cities for comprehensive county-level tourism competitiveness in 2025. Shizhu County was selected among the top 100 counties and cities nationwide.

In recent years, Shizhu County has taken “folk culture + specialty cuisine + green ecology + ice and snow tourism + sports events” as its core, actively exploring a development path for the deep integration of culture, tourism, and sports, and promoting coordinated development between the county economy and the cultural tourism industry. During this year’s May Day holiday, the county received a total of 798,100 tourists, representing a year-on-year increase of 59.30%; comprehensive tourism revenue reached 550 million yuan, up 56.78% year on year. During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday period, the county received a total of 1.23 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 19.56%; comprehensive tourism revenue reached 852 million yuan, up 18.36% year on year.
