Safeguarding Livelihoods Through Strict Metering Oversight, Ensuring Reliable Electricity Meters for the Public

On December 30, 2025, it was learned from State Grid Ningxia Marketing Service Center (State Grid Ningxia Metrology Center) that the center completed the initial verification of more than 260,000 electronic energy meters and current transformers in 2025, with a pass rate of 99.89%. This effectively safeguarded the good image of energy metering as a “fair scale,” ensuring that the public can use electricity with confidence.

It is understood that State Grid Ningxia Marketing Service Center (State Grid Ningxia Metrology Center) has obtained authorization as a “Legal Metrology Verification Institution” from the Market Supervision and Administration Department of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, as well as CMA (China Metrology Accreditation for Inspection and Testing) certification for quality inspection and testing laboratories. The center has established a full-performance testing assembly line and an automated production system featuring “six lines, one warehouse, and one platform.” It is equipped with the highest-grade energy meter and current transformer standard devices in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, which are directly traceable to national metrological standards. In accordance with the law, the center carries out accurate and reliable transmission of measurement values across the region and undertakes the initial verification of newly purchased energy metering instruments for State Grid Ningxia Electric Power Co., Ltd.

Since 2025, the center has strictly controlled the acceptance inspection of energy metering instruments with high standards, actively carried out verification work for various types of energy metering equipment, and supported the fairness and accuracy of energy metering devices of State Grid Ningxia Electric Power. In May, acting as the leading laboratory, the center undertook the metrological comparison of single-phase alternating current energy meter verification devices organized by the Market Supervision and Administration Department of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. In strict accordance with relevant metrological comparison requirements, the center fully leveraged its leading role in technical guidance and organizational coordination, successfully completing the provincial metrological comparison task and earning high recognition from the regional market supervision authority.

“While actively completing routine verification tasks, we have further enhanced the efficiency of the automated verification assembly line,” said Liang Fei, Director of the Metrology Verification Department. “By upgrading existing equipment, we have achieved compatible verification capability for wide-range low-voltage current transformers, meeting large-scale centralized verification needs for wide-range, conventional, and DBI-type low-voltage current transformers, and further satisfying verification demands from all sectors of society.”
