State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company Brings Electrical Safety Awareness to Campus

"Don't climb poles, don't touch wires; protect power facilities, keep this in mind..." Recently, a catchy safety nursery rhyme echoed through the classrooms of Yangjian Experimental Primary School in Wuxi. A volunteer team from State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company visited the campus, bringing students a lively and engaging "electrical safety mini-lesson," helping kick off the new semester with safety awareness.

Departing from traditional one-way lectures, this event focused on "enlightenment" as its core principle. Safety instructors from the power supply company, drawing on scenarios from both school and home, used PPT animations and interactive Q&A simulations to explain practical knowledge in language that children could easily understand, covering topics such as identifying power facilities and preventing outdoor electric shocks. Specially designed homemade cards featuring electrical safety rhymes were also distributed, and the instructors led the students in reading them aloud together, helping students internalize safety rules in a fun and engaging way.

To make abstract electrical concepts "visible and tangible," the volunteers led the students in hands-on experiments. From using static electricity generated by rubbing a balloon to attract paper scraps, to lighting a small bulb with a lemon, the children discovered the wonders of electricity through hands-on activities. The volunteers also staged short skits illustrating scenarios like "Danger! High Voltage" and "No Kite Flying Near Power Facilities," integrating safety principles into vivid performances to enhance children's awareness of electrical safety.

On the same day, technical staff from the power supply company conducted a comprehensive "health check" on key areas of the campus, including the school's distribution room, classroom wiring, and sockets and switches. They inspected over 10 locations and helped rectify two potential safety hazards, thereby eliminating risks at the source and ensuring a safer electricity environment for teachers and students.
