On March 19, the successful commissioning of the 110 kV Kangyuan Printing and Dyeing Substation marked a critical breakthrough in the infrastructure construction of the Changjing Printing and Dyeing Industrial Park in Jiangyin, Wuxi. "Custom-built" by State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company specifically for printing and dyeing enterprises, this substation will provide a stable and efficient power supply for the park, helping the traditional energy-intensive industry transition toward green and intensive development.
The printing and dyeing sector is a crucial link in the textile and garment industry chain, but it also faces challenges such as high energy consumption and substantial pollution discharge. Local authorities plan to build four modern printing and dyeing clusters to achieve a win-win situation for both industrial upgrading and environmental compliance.
The Changjing Printing and Dyeing Park is one of these clusters. With a total investment of approximately 1.6 billion yuan, it adopts the "industrial upstairs" model to promote the economical and intensive use of land. Currently, 47 printing and dyeing enterprises and their upstream and downstream partners have signed contracts to establish operations in the park, and the initial effects of industrial agglomeration are beginning to show.
In response to the printing and dyeing industry's characteristics, such as high electricity loads and continuous production processes, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company got involved early during the park's initial planning stage. The company set up a dedicated service team and introduced a customized "one park, one policy" power supply plan. The newly commissioned substation features a transformer configuration of "one large and one small, a high-low mix." This setup not only ensures the stable, full-load operation of existing production lines but also reserves ample capacity for the future introduction of high-end equipment and plant expansions.
