Guangshui, Hubei: Reliable Power Supply Boosts Tea Industry Expansion and Output

ChinaNews|Published:2026-04-09 17:06:22

In Wushengguan Town, Guangshui City, Hubei Province, the tea planting area in Yanglingou Tea Garden and two surrounding villages exceeds 11,000 mu, with the tea industry accounting for a quarter of the city's total output value. Centered on Yanglingou tea, the area has developed the industry in a coordinated manner, fostered a distinctive tea culture, and extended the industrial chain. Every step of post-harvest tea processing relies on a stable power supply.

Recently, staff from State Grid Guangshui Power Supply Company carried out special line inspections in the tea gardens, learned about local tea planting and processing, and promoted safe electricity use practices.

It is reported that local tea factories mainly purchase fresh tea leaves from nearby farmers for processing, with products sold across the country. Inside the production workshops, large fixation machines, dryers, and rolling machines are operating at full capacity. Power workers conducted comprehensive inspections of workshop equipment, meter boxes, and wiring, and assisted factory staff in testing and checking the tea production lines. They also assessed electricity demand to ensure sufficient power supply for tea production.

During the inspections, power workers focused on checking the operation of smart agricultural  equipment, including meteorological monitoring systems, intelligent pest control devices, and integrated water-fertilizer irrigation systems. They also carefully examined potential safety hazards in key areas such as line connections, equipment grounding, and leakage protection. At the same time, they provided on-site guidance to tea farmers and garden managers on safe and efficient electricity use during the spring season, including operational standards for smart equipment and emergency response measures, helping ensure stable power supply throughout tea production.

Next, the company will continue to carry out targeted safety inspections based on the electricity consumption characteristics of tea enterprises, ensuring timely troubleshooting of power issues and supporting further capacity expansion and output growth.
