Although the Dragon Boat Festival has just passed, festive activities are still continuing across Hubei Province. On June 28, the 2026 Wuhan Dragon Boat Invitational was held at Jiangxia Central Park, where 28 teams and more than 700 competitors competed fiercely on the lake.
The participating teams came from several provinces, including Hubei, Hunan, and Jiangxi, as well as dragon boat teams from several universities, making the competition highly intense. On the racecourse, drums thundered and paddles moved in unison as dragon boats sped across the lake. Spectators along the shore cheered one after another, creating a lively atmosphere.

The excitement extended well beyond the racecourse. The Dragon Boat Carnival opened alongside the competition, featuring intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, local delicacies, and cultural and creative products. A parade of Guofeng-themed costumed performers also attracted many residents to stop and take photos. Many families brought their children to experience dry-land dragon boat activities and interactive games, filling the venue with laughter and joy.

After multiple rounds of competition, the host Wuhan team delivered an impressive performance, winning six event titles and emerging as the biggest winner of the competition.
