With 2026 marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, the event was jointly hosted by the People's Government of Gansu Province and the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing. It was organized by the Gansu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Gansu Sub-council, and the Provincial Economic Cooperation Center. More than 180 participants attended the conference, including representatives from relevant provincial departments, prefecture-level cities and prefectures, the Lanzhou New Area, and enterprises from both countries.
The conference was highly efficient and results-oriented, featuring a range of insightful presentations. Officials from the Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce and the Trade and Investment Counselor of the Embassy of Pakistan in China introduced key industries, business policies, and cooperation opportunities. Lanzhou, Dingxi, and Linxia Prefecture delivered thematic presentations highlighting their respective regional advantages, while provincial government advisors shared recommendations on advancing development through technological innovation and the integration of industry, academia, and research.
Taking advantage of Pakistan's role as the Guest Country of Honor at this year's China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair, Gansu continues to deepen multifaceted cooperation with Pakistan in industries, trade, and cultural exchanges. Leveraging its strategic location as a hub along the Silk Road, Gansu will continue to strengthen practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and inject "Gansu strength" into the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
