Wuxi, Jiangsu: 4,633 Electric Bicycle Charging Piles Connected to the Power Grid

On July 14, at Chunchao Huayuan Phase I in Wuxi's Xinwu District, staff from State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company demonstrated the operation process of the smart charging platform on-site. Residents can scan QR codes to locate available charging piles and complete payment—all in less than a minute.

In 2025, Xinwu District incorporated the installation of electric bicycle charging facilities and charging fee management into its property management rectification priorities. State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company proactively coordinated with the District Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau to jointly address issues related to community power capacity upgrades and cable routing. Under the shared electricity usage model now being promoted, one party applies for an electricity meter while multiple parties can access electricity by scanning a QR code. Electricity consumption is settled based on actual usage, eliminating the need for individual residents to apply for separate connections. This approach has effectively reduced "flying-wire charging" (unauthorized dangling power cables) in some communities.

As of July 2026, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company has completed power connections for a total of 4,633 electric bicycle charging piles, covering 202 residential communities in Wuxi's Xinwu District.

In the next phase, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company will continue to support the property management rectification campaign, expand the charging network, and prioritize power connection work for charging facilities in older residential communities and resettlement housing complexes.
