2026 Guizhou Village Super League Championship Final Concludes with Qiandongnan Team Winning the Title

On the evening of August 2, 2026, the final of the Guizhou Village Super League Championship was held at the Village Super Stadium in Rongjiang County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, marking the conclusion of the nearly three-month grassroots football tournament that covered all nine prefectures and cities across Guizhou Province. After 90 minutes of play, the Qiandongnan team defeated the Tongren team 3–2 to win the championship, while the Liupanshui team secured third place.

The final was a roller-coaster affair. In the 44th minute of the first half, Qiandongnan player No. 33 Zhang Kaifa combined with a teammate and took a shot. The Tongren goalkeeper fumbled the save, allowing captain No. 47 Yang Zhengwei to follow up quickly and score from the rebound. In the 65th minute of the second half, substitute Zeng Yu scored a header from a corner kick, extending Qiandongnan’s lead to 2–0.

Trailing by two goals, the Tongren team refused to give up and leveled the score at 2–2 just three minutes later. In stoppage time, Qiandongnan were awarded a penalty. Zeng Yu, who had already scored once earlier in the match, stepped up and calmly converted the spot kick to seal a 3–2 victory and secure the championship trophy for his team.

Since October 2025, Guizhou has upgraded and promoted the Village Super League, expanding the event from Rongjiang County to all 88 counties (cities and districts) across the province. The participating players come from all walks of life, including fruit growers, truck drivers, self-employed business owners, doctors, teachers, firefighters and other local residents.

The 2026 tournament kicked off on May 16 and consisted of 30 matches across four stages — the group stage, play-offs, placement matches and final — with more than 80 goals scored during regular time. The competition featured numerous dramatic comebacks and last-gasp winners.
