World Photography Day | Illuminating Gansu: A Vision Through the Lens

August 19 marks World Photography Day—a day to capture the breathtaking landscapes of Gansu and the unwavering commitment of its power grid.

The Yellow River winds through Lanzhou, defining the city's distinctive contours. Layer upon layer of colorful Danxia landforms stretch across the landscape, while the snow-capped Qilian Mountains rise majestically and the vast Gobi Desert unfolds into the distance. Amid forests and seas of clouds, transmission towers span the land. Each image captures both the splendor of the mountains and rivers and the steadfast dedication of power workers.

Lineworkers traverse mountains and the Gobi, scaling treacherous peaks on the plateau and safeguarding the "silver lines" that stretch across mountains and valleys. Wind and solar farms shimmer across the desert, while rows of transmission towers build vital energy corridors. Every click of the shutter captures the beauty of the land; every play of light and shadow tells a story of responsibility and commitment. Through the lens, we record the light; through electricity, we safeguard the lights of millions of homes. Together, these images bear witness to the vibrant energy development unfolding across Gansu.
