“Is the electrical equipment used in cold-chain storage operating properly?” On August 21, a dedicated cross-border e-commerce service team from State Grid Anshan Power Supply Company (State Grid Anshan) visited the industrial park of the China (Anshan) Cross-Border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone. Staff moved between livestreaming studios and warehouse sorting areas, inspecting power distribution equipment and speaking face to face with company representatives to learn about their specific needs for energy use, capacity expansion and equipment upgrades.

Because of time-zone differences, businesses in the park operate around the clock, conducting livestreaming sales, processing orders and handling other operations. A continuous and stable power supply is therefore essential. State Grid Anshan has set up a dedicated service team and visited every business in the park to understand the different power needs of offices, server rooms and cold-chain storage facilities. It has also established a fast-track service to promptly handle applications for capacity expansion and equipment upgrades, extending reliable power services to businesses’ day-to-day operations.

Cross-border e-commerce relies on a closely connected chain of online transactions, data storage, warehousing and sorting, requiring a highly reliable power supply. State Grid Anshan has upgraded the park’s power supply facilities, while operations and maintenance personnel routinely inspect power lines and equipment for potential hazards. For key logistics projects, the company gets involved early and provides power services throughout construction, with both primary and backup power supplies installed to safeguard cross-border e-commerce operations.

In addition to strengthening its power infrastructure, State Grid Anshan has continued to improve its business support services. On July 3, an 800 kW distributed photovoltaic project at the park was connected to the grid and began generating electricity. It generates 122,000 kWh per month, reducing businesses’ monthly electricity costs by 75,000 yuan.

“The power supply company developed a tailored integrated energy solution combining distributed solar generation with EV chargers. It has not only lowered our electricity costs but also created new revenue streams. The breadth and depth of its services have exceeded our expectations,” said Huang Luxin, head of a company in the park.

Through its “e-Power Financial Services” platform, the power supply company also helps businesses obtain low-cost credit and ease pressure on working capital.
