In Chinese, the character "泰 (Tai)," when broken down, can be interpreted as "a person surrounded by three bodies of water." More than 6,000 years ago, the Yangtze River, the Huaihe River, and the Yellow Sea converged here, giving rise to this auspicious and blessed land.

When visiting scenic spots, the Wanghai Tower is a must-see. Known as the "No. 1 Tower in the Jianghuai Region," it has gone through several periods of decline and revival and was rebuilt on its original site in 2006. Not long ago, it reopened after renovation. From the top of the tower, the thousand-year-old Fengcheng River can be seen meandering into the distance.
As a water town, Taizhou has developed a cuisine rich in soups and broths, as well as the local morning tea custom known as "skin wrapping water," a saying that vividly describes the city's love of morning tea. Long-established tea houses open at dawn, and seats are even harder to come by at shops with intangible cultural heritage status. When local residents have some free time, a morning tea meal can easily last until late morning.

As the largest private shipbuilding base in China, the construction of huge ships here is like "building with blocks," with master craftsmen at work and welding sparks flying. Marine engineering equipment reaches markets around the world, and one out of every ten new ships in the world is made in Taizhou.
Here, there is a "Famous Stainless Steel Town" that has transitioned from traditional manufacturing to high-end production, as well as a "Capital of the Violin Industry" whose products are popular in Europe and America. The fine chemical industrial park is thriving, with products moving from being priced by the ton to being sold by the gram. The value of new materials is being redefined.
