Press Conference Unveils Outcomes of the Second Comprehensive Scientific Survey of Helan Mountain in Inner Mongolia

On September 4, the press conference on the outcomes of the second comprehensive scientific survey of Helan Mountain in Inner Mongolia was held in Hohhot. Launched in 2023, the three-year-long survey has discovered 6 new species and recorded 568 species new to different regions, including 20 new records for China and 243 new records for Inner Mongolia. The total number of species across all categories in the reserve has been updated to 4,598. The survey has provided a comprehensive picture of the biodiversity of Helan Mountain in Inner Mongolia and authoritative data support for ecological conservation and the establishment of Helan Mountain National Park.
