Jiyuan, Henan: Quality Power Supply Services Support Agricultural Development

Recently, staff members from State Grid Jiyuan Power Supply Company visited the Huayuji Fresh Fruit Agricultural Base in Shaoyuan Town to assess electricity use and inspect power facilities to improve power supply reliability.

As a national modern agriculture demonstration zone, Jiyuan City, Henan Province, enjoys robust growth in industries such as vegetable seed production, rabbit farming for meat production, fresh fruit picking and greenhouse vegetable farming. State Grid Jiyuan Power Supply Company has optimized its services and rolled out targeted measures to support high-quality development of agricultural industries with a reliable power supply.

To ensure safe grid operation and a reliable rural power supply, the company has set up area-based operation and maintenance teams. Using both drone inspections and manual patrols, the teams step up inspections of substations serving rural areas, power transmission and distribution lines, and distribution transformer service areas.

Given Jiyuan’s large expanse of mountains and hills, where power facilities operate in complex environments, the company carries out tasks such as clearing line corridors and reinforcing utility pole guy wires. These efforts mitigate risks brought by harsh weather, including strong winds and rainfall, and ensure safe and uninterrupted power delivery.

Given Jiyuan’s numerous agricultural bases and specialty industries, the company has increased inspection frequency for power supply facilities serving key livestock farming bases, crop production bases and agricultural product processing enterprises to eliminate potential hazards promptly. It also intensifies checks on customer-side power facilities, including power distribution cabinets, cable branch boxes and residual-current protective devices, and guides customers on safe electricity use.

To deliver more targeted and effective services, the company has formed service teams to assist local customers through its five central power supply stations and six power service outlets. Team members conduct regular door-to-door visits to learn about customer needs, handle electricity service requests promptly, inspect electrical equipment carefully, and remind customers to strengthen equipment operation and maintenance.
