The 4th Academic Symposium on the History of Ethnic Interaction, Exchange and Integration in Northern China Held

Recently, the 4th Academic Symposium on the History of Ethnic Interaction, Exchange and Integration in Northern China was held in Hohhot. Hosted by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Academy of Social Sciences, the symposium was co-organized by the Institute of History of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Academy of Social Sciences; the Yuan History Research Office and the Song-Liao-Xia-Jin History Research Office of the Institute of Ancient History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; the Research Center for Historical Documents of Northern Ethnic Groups, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Academy of Social Sciences; and the Association for Ethnic Unity and Progress of Gangnan District, Guigang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Speeches were delivered by Shuangbao, Research Fellow and Vice-President of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Academy of Social Sciences; Wuyungaowa, Research Fellow and Director of the Yuan History Research Office, Institute of Ancient History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Shi Tiru, Vice-President of the Guangxi Buddhist Association and Member of the Standing Committee of the Guigang Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; and Chen Jiongran, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department and Director of the Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of Gangnan District, Guigang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Keynote speeches were given by invited experts, including Professor Hu Richa from the School of Ethnology and Anthropology, Inner Mongolia Normal University; Wuyungaowa, Research Fellow and Director of the Yuan History Research Office, Institute of Ancient History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Yu Fei, former Second-Level Inspector of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Yu Ling, Research Fellow and Director of the Institute of History, Jilin Academy of Social Sciences; Kang Peng, Research Fellow and Director of the Song-Liao-Xia-Jin History Research Office, Institute of Ancient History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Su Hui, Associate Senior Editor at the Institute of Ancient History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; and Naheya, Professor at the School of Ethnology and Sociology, Inner Mongolia University and Director of the Institute of Modern and Contemporary History of Inner Mongolia.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Quan Rong, Research Fellow and Director of the Institute of History, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Academy of Social Sciences. The keynote sessions were moderated by Research Fellows Yu Moying and Li Chunmei from the same institute.
