Construction of Jilin's Largest High-Standard Farmland Project Concludes in Dunhua, Northeast China

The 2025 high-standard farmland construction project in Dunhua, Jilin Province, built by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company Ltd., was recently completed. The initiative stands as the largest and most extensive project of its kind in Jilin Province.

Farmland thrives with vibrant growth in summer

Located in Dunhua, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, the project spans Jiangnan Town, Heishi Township, and Qiuligou Town. It has delivered 50,700 mu of newly developed and 87,900 mu of upgraded high-standard farmland, alongside 56.21 kilometers of new canals, 173.22 kilometers of farm access roads, and 1,202 canal structures.

Following the autumn harvest, Dunhua's vast farmland stretches continuously, interconnected by field roads and irrigation and drainage infrastructure

Prioritizing local hiring, the project tapped into local labor resources by recruiting nearby villagers and providing pre-job technical training. This initiative allowed residents to earn an income and acquire professional construction skills close to home.

Irrigation and drainage facilities link with surrounding arable land, further improving farming conditions on the black soil farmland

Grounded in the principle that food security relies on high-quality arable land, the completed Dunhua project features an integrated network of irrigation and drainage canals, well-connected farm roads, and properly functioning canal structures. The comprehensive upgrade to farming conditions on the black soil farmland ensures reliable irrigation during droughts and effective drainage during floods, substantially boosting disaster resilience.
