Recently, State Grid Huai'an Power Supply Company organized maintenance crews to install interphase spacers on the 110-kV Lianli transmission line at Tower No. 1 in Lianshui County. The work aims to improve the line's resistance to conductor galloping in strong winds and ensure stable operation.

As strong winds become more frequent in autumn, conductor galloping poses a significant risk to the safe operation of transmission lines. To address this risk, State Grid Huai’an Power Supply Company organized crews to carry out maintenance and defect rectification on the 110-kV Lianli transmission line. The work included installing interphase spacers, conducting routine line maintenance, cleaning insulators, and inspecting and tightening tower bolts.

During the maintenance work, crews strictly followed standardized operating procedures and precisely installed the interphase spacers at designated positions. The spacers help limit conductor movement in strong winds, reducing the risk of phase-to-phase short circuits.

In addition to installing the spacers, maintenance crews cleaned the insulators at each tower to remove surface contamination and foreign matter, helping restore their insulating performance. They also inspected and tightened bolts at critical points on the towers to prevent loosening caused by prolonged vibration.

The completed maintenance work will further enhance the line's resilience to adverse weather conditions in autumn and winter, including strong winds, low temperatures, rain and snow. It will also improve the overall condition of the equipment and enhance power supply reliability. (Text/Photo by Feng Qisheng)
