Chengdu: Park City for Better Life

Recently, the Planning Outline for the Construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle was released. According to the Planning Outline, promoting the construction of Park City Demonstration Zone is one of the core measures of Chengdu to advance the high-quality development of the Chengdu-Chongqing region. With the construction of the Park City Demonstration Zone as a breakthrough, Chengdu will open up a unique path for the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle’s high-quality development .

In the past three years, from the first city to be referred to as "Park City" to  the Park City Demonstration Zone implementing the new development philosophy included into the national strategic plan, Chengdu is entrusted the mission to take the lead in exploring a new path of urbanization with Chinese characteristics. Chengdu has been adhering to the concept of "Park City", exploring the construction and development of the "Park City" theoretical system, to build a beautiful and livable park city of high quality.

Chengdu built a life-community of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes and grasses to ensure the natural and orderly development of the city, an "Eastern Forest" with a 10,000-kilometer Tianfu Green Road, enabled 45% of its population to commute within half an hour. Now,  the four-level space system of "metropolitan area-regional city-functional area-new type of community", and a beautiful and livable park city, with high-level harmony among human, city, environment and industry, has been basically formed in Chengdu.

Currently, Chengdu is accelerating the project of the Park City Demonstration Zone, which brought a comprehensive upgradation of its international competitiveness and regional driving force and a significant reinforcement citizens' sense of happiness, fulfillment and security. The construction of a livable place of high quality has obtained initial success.
