China's First Dryland Winter Sports Hall for World Curling Tour to Be Built in Xindu District, Chengdu

Recently, Chengdu Xindu District announced that the World Curling Tour (WCT) will build China's first dryland winter sports hall in Xindu District. Curling, an international and interesting sport, will soon enter the daily life of Xindu people.

At the beginning of 2022, the WCT Asia-Pacific Headquarter settled in Xindu District, Chengdu. This is the first time the Asia-Pacific Headquarter of a global major sports league organization has settled in Chengdu, which is of great practical significance for hosting the 31st Summer Universiade and promoting the construction of a world famous events city in Chengdu. In addition, the organization will keep Xindu District as the foothold, promote curling in the entire Asia-Pacific region and host various top-level events under the World Curling Tour.

Xindu District in Chengdu has introduced the winter industry project since 2016, which now has a certain scale and unique advantages in the winter industry within Sichuan Province. This has become one of the reasons why WCT chose Xindu District.

It is learned that the upcoming dryland winter sports hall will enrich winter sports experience with high-quality and immersive scenes. Winter schools, winter sports training for young people, and sports tourism event support and services will be available to provide the public with new urban lifestyles, such as winter-sports-themed leisure, entertainment, fitness and social interaction, enhance the city's reputation and improve people's happiness.
