The second season of "Charming Beijing" weekly broadcast programme held in Hungary

On the afternoon of October 30th, local time, the launching ceremony of the second season of the "Charming Beijing" weekly broadcast programme and the promotion event of Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games were held in Budapest, Hungary. The event was co-sponsored by the Information Office of People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, directed by the Embassy of People's Republic of China in Hungary, and hosted by D1 TV in Hungary. It aimed to further strengthen the cooperation between Beijing and countries and regions along the Belt and Road, and enhance Beijing's soft power in culture and international influence.

Wang Zheng, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary said that though China and Hungary are separated by thousands of miles, the deep friendship between the two peoples is long-standing and well-established. Wang Zheng believed that the "Charming Beijing" weekly broadcast programme will play a positive role in strengthening exchanges between the two peoples.

During the event, Beijing Media Network (BMN) and D1 TV signed the contract, marking the launch of the "Charming Beijing" weekly broadcast programme (season 2).

It is known that the first season of "Charming Beijing" programme had been broadcast on the D1 TV till this October, and the programme has received high ratings. Starting from November 2nd this year, "Charming Beijing" season 2 will be broadcast on D1 TV every Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Guests from Hungary and China were having discussion

The event also invited Hungarian guests such as the deputy director of the D1 TV, together with Yue Min, deputy director of the science and education programme center of BMN, to have in-depth discussion on the media cooperation and cultural exchanges under the framework of the Belt and Road.

The deputy director of the D1 TV said that since the first season of "Charming Beijing" was broadcast, some audience have contacted them, hoping to watch more TV programmes about Beijing and China. Therefore the launch of the "Charming Beijing" programme season 2 has met the expectations of Hungarian audience.
