On the morning of September 22nd, Henan Province held the opening ceremony of 2020 Chinese Peasants' Harvest Festival in Xijiangzhai Village, Xiangfu District, Kaifeng City. This year's festival was themed on "Celebrating the Harvest and Embracing a Better Life".
The opening ceremony included festive scenes like peasants walking on stilts, rowing land boats and dragon and lion dance. Moreover, big farmers, ordinary peasants and poor households joined the open-air fair and showcased their good harvest of sweet potatoes, peanuts and millet. The famous, high-quality and brand new agricultural products were also put on exhibition as part of the "Good Harvest Show". All these have comprehensively presented Henan's agricultural development as well as the new looks of rural areas and citizens.
The Agricultural Carnival Show was centered on farming culture. It combined the Yellow River culture and the Central Plains culture to show the unique regional agricultural civilization, setting a good example for modern urban agriculture by integrating hi-tech demonstration, agricultural sightseeing and research and learning bases.
In the exhibition area for famous, high-quality and brand new agricultural products, organic sweet potatoes and chrysanthemum tea soon attracted the attention. Fresh crops and fruits were everywhere and favored by the visitors. Some agricultural businesses also grasped this opportunity to hold in-depth talks with the exhibitors in hope of conducting cooperation with each other.
In the golden autumn, numerous places are celebrating their good harvest. The rural citizens beat the festive drums with joy and showcase the payoff of their hard work for the year, embracing a happier and better-off life.
