[To Share a Trove] Treasure Hunt in Hubei with an American Anchor

The multilingual short video series "To Share a Trove" is jointly produced by CRI Online of China Media Group, and Hubei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. In the first episode of "A Fabulous Wuhan Museum Tour", Rachel, an anchor of CGTN English, will lead us to Hubei for treasure hunting and the traces of Jingchu civilization.

Hubei, China is an important birthplace of the Yangtze River culture and Chu culture. It is rich in bronze cultural relics represented by national treasures such as the Sword of Goujian and Bianzhong of Marquis Yi of Zeng. Hubei has 364.73 million immovable cultural relics, 2.5 million sets of movable cultural relics and 110 thousand sets of precious cultural relics, ranking among the top ten in China.

Since 2012, the number of museums in Hubei has increased from 145 to 234 (ranking tenth in the country), with an average of nine new museums completed and opened every year. By the end of April 2022, 234 museums, including 127 museums under the centralized management of the cultural and tourism system, 42 museums in other state-owned industries, and 65 non-state-owned museums, have been registered in the province. The development goal of having one museum for every 250 thousand people has been achieved on schedule.
