Recently, "Beijing's Landscapes" of "Charming Beijing" TV Series, produced by Chinese and Croatian teams, was broadcast on mainstream media platforms in both Croatia and Montenegro. Focusing on mountains, waters, and local people in Beijing, the TV series consists of three chapters, namely "Imperial Gardens: Imperial Life of Ancient Beijing", "Dynamic Culture of the Grand Canal", and "Hutong: Vitality of Daily Life".
As the encyclopedia of the local region, hutongs, or narrow alleys reflect changes in history and tendencies of the day and carry the unique local culture of Beijing. The culture of hutongs and imperial culture are combined harmoniously in Beijing. In a city with a thousand years of history, hutongs, in addition to other royal palaces and gardens, are the most excellent symbol to have a better understanding of Beijing.
In the chapter "Hutong: Vitality of Daily Life", Goran Durdevic, a host from Croatia in the TV series took a walk at the famous Yangmeizhuxie Street to explore a hutong, an element that reflects the charm of the city, so as to figure out the unique neighborhood relationship and local life philosophy, feel the artistic and vivid daily life, and touch the history embedded in these alleys.
