Recently, Beijing's Landscapes of Charming Beijing TV Series, produced by Chinese and Croatian teams, was broadcast on mainstream media platforms in both Croatia and Montenegro. Focusing on mountains, waters, and local people in Beijing, the TV series consists of three chapters, namely "Imperial Gardens: Imperial Life of Ancient Beijing", "Dynamic Culture of the Grand Canal", and "Hutong: Vitality of Daily Life".
As an essential cultural symbol of Beijing, the imperial culture stands out in the royal gardens (Three Mountains and Five Royal Gardens: Xiangshan Mountain, Yuquan Mountain, Wanshou Mountain, Jingyi Garden, Jingming Garden, the Summer Palace, Yuanmingyuan Park, and Changchun Garden) in west Beijing. The Summer Palace, one of the gardens located in the Three Mountains, is a masterpiece among ancient Chinese imperial gardens and is also regarded as the acme of garden construction art in ancient China.
In the chapter "Imperial Gardens: Imperial Life of Ancient Beijing", Goran Durdevic, a host from Croatia in the TV series and an assistant professor at Beiwai College of Beijing Foreign Studies University served as a "tour guide" at the Summer Palace to showcase the natural and artistic beauty of this amazing garden, its history, and the aesthetic features and soul of traditional architecture in China. "It is a perfect place where nature, the beauty of ecology, and traditional culture are combined in harmony," said Goran Durdevic in the video.
