Diplomats from More Than 10 Countries Visit Yangling on 5th Anniversary of SCO Agricultural Base Initiative

Diplomats from more than 10 countries, including Bosnia, Cambodia, Ghana, Herzegovina, Nigeria, and the Czech Republic visited SCO Modern Agricultural Exchange Center and the Yangling Smart Agriculture Demonstration Park to witness what had already been accomplished and explore new opportunities for cooperation.

Yangling Demonstration Zone has been leading a new wave of scientific and technological innovation in agriculture, promoting achievements and taking part in international exchanges and cooperation since its founding in 1997. Driving the modernization of agricultural practices and establishing close relations with more than 60 countries, Yangling has been involved in more than 500 international exchanges and 130 international cooperation projects.

Diplomats visit SCO Modern Agricultural Exchange Center

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the SCO Agricultural Base. Over the past five years, the Base has done much to expand agricultural and technological cooperation, training, demonstration and promotion, and international trade within the SCO. The Base has been a part of 163 foreign aid training projects with upwards of 4,600 agricultural technical and management personnel from more than 130 countries, trained more than 300 people for poverty alleviation in the SCO, and built 10 overseas agricultural science and technology parks to test and demonstrate more than 110 high-yield varieties and advanced cultivation techniques.

After the visit, Ninikanwa Olachi Okey-Uche, Minister at the Nigerian Embassy in China, said: "We need Yangling's advanced technology for dryland farming and an international cooperation platform like CAF. The things we saw and heard in Yangling exceeded our expectations for this trip."
