Recently, at pole #73 on the 10-kilovolt Fengguang Line, located at the intersection of Suizhou Avenue and Fumin Road in Sui County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province, a team from State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company carried out live-line operations to eliminate an insulator defect, ensuring the safe operation of the power grid during the summer peak.
In recent days, with temperatures consistently exceeding 35°C (95°F), electricity demand has continued to rise. To further enhance power supply reliability, State Grid Shangqiu Power Supply Company has responded proactively by intensifying line inspections through the use of technologies such as drones and infrared thermal imaging, and systematically addressing prioritized defects.
The company’s live-line operation teams take advantage of the relatively cooler morning and evening hours to carry out defect elimination in accordance with the principle of maintaining live-line operations whenever feasible. Meanwhile, the company has deployed several medium-voltage generator vehicles and emergency power trucks, with personnel on standby around the clock to handle potential emergencies. These efforts aim to ensure reliable emergency power supply and support residents through the summer heat.
