Recently, the State Grid Jiyuan Power Supply Company conducted focused inspections of power facilities in mountainous areas such as Sili, Kejing, and Wulongkou Towns. During these inspections, comprehensive measures including windproofing, lightning protection, and rockfall mitigation were implemented to identify potential risks, enhance grid resilience, and ensure a reliable power supply.

The vast and rugged mountainous areas in Jiyuan, combined with the complexity of the power grid infrastructure, pose challenges to maintaining a safe and stable power supply. In response, the State Grid Jiyuan Power Supply Company has refined its measures and implemented tailored strategies to fortify the security of power facilities in these regions.

As part of its preparations for the summer peak demand, the company has clarified the roles of its professional staff, ensuring detailed responsibilities for each team. In addition, the company has adopted measures such as zoning, segmenting, and categorizing equipment to intensify inspections of power facilities in these mountainous areas. The inspections focus on the operational status of transmission and distribution lines, surrounding environments, and power corridors. All identified safety hazards have been addressed. Over the past month, the company has inspected 77 transmission lines of 35 kV and above, 169 10-kilovolt distribution lines, and more than 2,500 transformer substations, resolving 102 safety issues.

Considering the frequent occurrence of high winds and thunderstorms during the transition from spring to summer, the State Grid Jiyuan Power Supply Company has proactively factored in the challenging terrain and severe weather conditions. Predictive planning has been applied to implement tailored safeguards against wind, lightning, and heavy rainfall. These measures effectively enhance the grid’s disaster resilience and ensure reliable operations during extreme weather conditions.

Additionally, the company has leveraged equipment inspections and power supply service visits as opportunities to educate the public on the protection of power facilities. Through outreach initiatives focused on safe outdoor construction, excavation, and fire safety practices, the company has fostered a community-based approach to grid protection, enhancing collective vigilance and ensuring the safety and reliability of the power supply.
