On the morning of April 18, the Engebei Desert in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, welcomed a group of new friends—over 60 international students from multiple universities across Inner Mongolia who planted 200 Mongolian pine saplings.
From transporting the saplings, digging holes, and placing the trees, to backfilling the soil, firming the earth, and watering, international students from countries including Russia, Mongolia, Ghana, the Philippines, Benin, and Thailand completed the planting process in one go. Carrying a sense of affection and fondness for Inner Mongolia, they personally planted the Mongolian pines, which embody friendship, in the Engebei Desert.
The "Sowing Green Together, Forging Civilization Together" tree-planting event for international students was co-hosted by the Information Office of the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the regional Department of Education. It was organized by Inner Mongolia Agricultural University and the Information Office of the Ordos Municipal People's Government. The international students left their own green footprints in the Engebei Desert, nurtured fresh buds of friendship between Chinese and foreign youth, and personally experienced the vibrant and magnificent ecological picture unfolding as Inner Mongolia advances the Three-North Shelterbelt Program.
The event provided an important platform for international students to intuitively experience the practical achievements of China's ecological civilization construction. It helped international youth deeply understand the development philosophy of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature, building a bridge for international ecological and cultural exchange through green practices.
