Ningbo, Zhejiang: "Power Love Supermarkets" Empower Rural Revitalization

As an important initiative by State Grid to serve rural revitalization and promote civilized rural culture, "Power Love Supermarkets" have been quietly emerging across Zhejiang Province. They have become effective platforms for uniting villagers, spreading kindness, and inspiring self-driven participation in community development.

State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power has been actively promoting the establishment of "Power Love Supermarkets" throughout the province. These supermarkets are not only physical spaces but also comprehensive platforms that integrate volunteer services, a points-based reward system, electricity services, and community governance. Centered around a points system, the "Power Love Supermarket" has established a virtuous cycle of "participation-point accumulation-redemption-incentive". Villagers earn points by engaging in activities such as environmental improvement, elderly care, electricity safety promotion, and cultural education. These points can then be exchanged for daily necessities, school supplies, and even agricultural tools at the supermarkets. This mechanism transforms intangible acts of goodwill into tangible rewards, effectively motivating villagers to participate in rural public affairs and fostering a community spirit of "all for one and one for all" in the countryside.

On September 29 in Cixi, Zhejiang, staff from State Grid Ningbo Power Supply Company joined over ten community volunteers to visit elderly residents living alone and families in need in Suntang New Village. They paid home visits to seniors living alone and other vulnerable groups, demonstrating care and support through concrete actions while contributing to the development of rural spiritual civilization. According to reports, participants earn "care points" for each service task completed, which quantifies and visualizes acts of kindness. These points can be exchanged for various practical items at the "Power Love Supermarket." The event saw a total of 1,500 points awarded, significantly boosting public enthusiasm for participating in elderly care and community service initiatives.

Inspired by Comrade Qian Haijun, a "Model of the Times", staff from State Grid Ningbo Power Supply Company regularly carry out safety education on electricity use, share revolutionary stories, and offer training sessions for rural electricians. They also integrate public welfare programs such as "Thousands of Households, Ten Thousand Lights" into their daily work. Additionally, the supermarkets have evolved into important platforms for live-streaming e-commerce, promoting local agricultural products and rural tourism, and further empowering rural industries.

Looking ahead, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power will continue to deepen and expand the "Power Love Supermarket" initiative. By leveraging the supermarkets as key platforms, it aims to further integrate resources, broaden functions, and refine operational mechanisms—allowing them to play a greater role in rural governance, cultural revitalization, and industrial development.
