State Grid Huai’an Power Supply Company: Cross-City Distribution Network Upgrades Strengthen Power Reliability for the Public

State Grid Huai’an Power Supply Company recently conducted a special autumn inspection of the 10 kV Hanqiao East B80 Line Optimization Project, assessing the performance and operational effectiveness of this cross-city interconnected distribution line.

The border region between Huaiyin District in Huai’an and Siyang County in Suqian has long been characterized by a sparse population and relatively few enterprises, resulting in long supply radii and limited interconnections between distribution facilities. In recent years, however, rapid economic development and new rounds of investment in fringe urban areas have placed increasing demands on the local distribution network, making network reinforcement and upgrades increasingly urgent.

Since early 2025, State Grid Huai’an Power Supply Company and State Grid Suqian Power Supply Company have worked closely together to carry out coordinated, cross-city distribution network upgrades. They have also jointly established a fault-response mechanism to ensure that local industries, businesses, and residents enjoy safe and reliable electricity supply.

As part of the joint enhancement project, the two companies have deployed advanced smart distribution equipment with remote fault detection, remote communication, and remote-control capabilities. These intelligent systems provide real-time monitoring of line load flows and the operating status of switches and other devices. When a fault occurs, the system can quickly identify the issue, isolate the affected section, and reroute electricity through alternative functioning feeders. This significantly shortens outage duration, strengthens grid resilience, and maximizes power supply reliability for the public.
