State Grid Shennongjia Drives Plastic Reduction to Protect Our Planet and Light Up Green Living

April 22 this year marked the 57th World Earth Day. To further advocate green environmental concepts and enhance villagers' environmental awareness, the State Grid Shennongjia Power Supply Company organized its "Green Power Ark" youth volunteer service team to visit Changqing Village in Yangri Town, launching a promotional campaign themed "Reducing Plastic to Protect Our Home."

At the event, volunteers educated villagers on the dangers of "white pollution" (plastic waste), the long-term impacts of plastic waste on soil and water sources, and shared practical tips for reducing the use of plastic products in daily life. They also distributed reusable ceramic cups and eco-friendly cloth bags.
Volunteers explained waste sorting practices, emphasizing how to properly handle and recycle plastic waste. They encouraged villagers to start with small, everyday actions and develop green, low-carbon lifestyle habits.
In addition to promoting environmental knowledge, the youth volunteers leveraged their industry expertise to brief villagers on safe and energy-saving electricity practices. They highlighted the efforts and achievements of the State Grid in advancing the energy transition and serving the national "dual carbon" goals, showcasing the responsibility and commitment of power enterprises in practicing the philosophy of green development.
The "Reducing Plastic to Protect Our Home" campaign not only effectively raised the environmental awareness and participation of Changqing Village residents but also played a positive role in fostering a strong atmosphere where "everyone cares about and participates in environmental protection."
Moving forward, the State Grid Shennongjia Power Supply Company will continue to promote the "Electric Power Charity Supermarket" points mechanism, drive the green and low-carbon transformation of production and daily lifestyles, and contribute more to building a beautiful Shennongjia and protecting our home planet.
