On April 22, at the vegetable planting base in Shilipu Village, Dongjiao Township, Kaifeng City, Henan Province, rows of vegetable greenhouses stood in neat order. Chili peppers, cherry tomatoes, mini cucumbers and other characteristic fruits and vegetables grew vigorously, fresh and succulent. Growers moved among the greenhouses, weeding, fertilizing, picking, sorting, and adjusting irrigation and supplementary lighting equipment. The fields presented a busy yet orderly scene, with a promising harvest in sight.
"Around the Grain Rain solar term every year, staff from the power supply company come to check electrical equipment and resolve electricity issues. This gives us peace of mind and ensures efficient electricity use," said Mr. Zhang, a vegetable grower.
To meet the electricity needs of vegetable greenhouse operations, staff from the State Grid Kaifeng Power Supply Company went to the fields. They conducted thorough inspections of key electrical equipment inside the greenhouses, including temperature control devices and curtain machines. They checked the operation of irrigation equipment, power lines, and leakage protection devices, and carefully identified potential hazards such as aging or damaged wires to ensure the safe and stable operation of all electrical equipment. At the same time, the staff explained power policies, regulations, and safe electricity use to growers on-site. They provided guidance on scientific and standardized power use, answered various power‑related questions, and customized safety plans based on planting scale and electricity demand. Targeted services have ensured reliable power use for greenhouse operations.
In the next phase, the State Grid Kaifeng Power Supply Company will continue to focus on the development needs of the vegetable greenhouse industry, further optimize power supply services, and enhance power supply reliability. With stable and reliable power supply and convenient, efficient and responsive services, the Company will contribute to bumper fruit and vegetable harvests, higher incomes for farmers, and help revitalize rural industries.
