On April 28, the "Vibrant Longhua, Cross-Border Leisure" Shenzhen Longhua Cultural and Tourism Promotion Event, hosted by the Longhua District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, was successfully held in Hung Hom, Hong Kong. Featuring cultural and tourism presentations, enterprise showcases, and on-site exchanges, the event established a new platform to promote integrated cultural, tourism, and commercial development between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Nearly 1,000 representatives from Hong Kong's cultural and tourism industry, media organizations, and the public attended the event.
Event highlights
At the promotion event, an official from the Longhua District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau served as a presenter, showcasing Longhua's unique appeal as a core district along Shenzhen's central axis. The district features a harmonious blend of ecology and culture, where tradition and modernity coexist. White egrets soar above the Guanlan River, the Printmaking Village preserves rich cultural heritage, and commercial hubs such as Uniworld and Shanghefang (Hong Kong–Macao Bay) are vibrant and dynamic. With just an 18-minute high-speed rail journey from Hong Kong West Kowloon to Longhua, cross-border travel has become highly efficient and convenient, allowing Hong Kong residents to easily experience the charm of Longhua firsthand.
Ten curated travel routes, including one-day and two-day itineraries, were also launched at the event. Covering themes such as cultural exploration, family leisure, eco-tourism, and trendy consumer experiences, the routes provide Hong Kong visitors with convenient, one-stop, and personalized travel options.
Event highlights
Eight representative cultural, tourism, and commercial enterprises—including Shanghefang (Hong Kong–Macao Bay), Uniworld, Luhu Art Center, MGallery Hotel, Shangzuo Spark, Hengyuan Hailifang, Kalu Ice and Snow World, and Marisfrolg—were showcased at the event. They presented a diverse range of tourism offerings such as integrated cultural and tourism complexes, art spaces, high-end hotels, ice and snow sports, family entertainment, and fashion consumption, highlighting Longhua's strong momentum in integrating culture, tourism, and commerce.
On the same day, the Longhua District Tourism Exchange Promotion Association signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the China Hong Kong Culture Sports and Tourism Association. The two sides will deepen collaboration in brand development, two-way tourist flows, and project development, jointly creating a distinctive cultural and tourism brand for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Deng Wenhui, Chairperson of the China Hong Kong Culture Sports and Tourism Association, spoke highly of the convenience of direct high-speed rail access to Longhua. She noted that many young people from Hong Kong now travel to Shenzhen every week to enjoy short “micro-vacations”. In her view, Shenzhen and Hong Kong possess distinctive and highly complementary cultural and tourism resources, offering broad prospects for future cooperation. The association will take this promotion event as an opportunity to further strengthen tourism collaboration and facilitate more joint projects.
The interactive session was filled with enthusiasm as Longhua representatives distributed nearly 100,000 RMB worth of cultural tourism vouchers and unique creative gifts, extending a sincere invitation to Hong Kong residents to visit and explore during the May Day holiday.
Chen Shaofei, a representative of Feida Travel Co., Ltd. (Hong Kong), remarked, "Longhua is absolutely incredible! It's truly got it all now—from amazing food and drinks to endless entertainment. I believe everyone should visit Longhua. Activities such as horse riding and skiing are very unique, and the accommodation is both high-quality and affordable. I plan to visit during the May Day holiday and will organize tour groups afterward so that more residents can experience what Longhua has to offer."
"Both sides should interact more frequently, just like visiting relatives," said Yiu Pak-leung, a Member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council. He noted that the promotion event was meaningful and refreshing, enabling Hong Kong residents to better understand Longhua. Longhua has achieved strong integration across culture, sports, and tourism sectors, developing diverse "tourism+" industries such as equestrian activities, wellness, culture, and technology, forming a well-developed industrial chain. With joint efforts from government and enterprises, new experiences are being created for visitors—an essential feature of cross-sector integration. He expressed hope that this event would serve as a starting point for deeper cooperation, enhanced resource sharing, and mutual visitor exchange between the two sides.
Taking this event as a new starting point, Longhua will continue promoting the deep integration of cultural and tourism resources with commercial consumption, accelerate the development of a new cultural-tourism-commerce hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and attract more Hong Kong enterprises, young talent, and residents to Longhua for shared growth.
