Targeted Services Solve Residents' Concerns, Reliable Power Supply Fuels Development

On May 20, representatives from the homeowners' committee and property management of Times Central Park Community in Rui'an, Wenzhou, visited State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company to express their appreciation and praise: "Thank you so much for helping us solve the long-standing problem of EV charging facilities!" The scene vividly demonstrated how the power supply company has leveraged professional services to address pressing public concerns and support green mobility.

Completed and delivered in 2017, Times Central Park Community is home to 543 households and 656 underground parking spaces. During the initial construction phase, charging facilities were designed to support only 15 percent of parking spaces through a dedicated transformer power supply system. As new energy vehicles rapidly gained popularity, the original infrastructure became increasingly overloaded. Cables, cable trays, and meter boxes had all reached full capacity, leaving no room for further expansion. In addition, the relatively high electricity costs under the dedicated transformer system and difficulties in securing renovation funds from residents further compounded the issue, making EV charging a major concern for the community.

During routine community visits, the transformer district manager of State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company identified the issue and promptly included it in the key community grid management ledger. Staff from the local power supply station, including low-voltage inspection personnel and equipment managers, visited the site multiple times and held discussions with the homeowners' committee and property management team to analyze the situation and address each bottleneck one by one. Four solutions were successively proposed, including: homeowners self-financing the project, implementing orderly charging measures, introducing third-party operators, and carrying out a comprehensive renovation through the transfer of dedicated transformer assets. Following a vote by all homeowners, the final decision was to adopt the optimal plan of "free transfer of power distribution room assets combined with an overall renovation planned by the power supply company."

After the plan was finalized, the technical team worked together to tackle key tasks. Led by the transformer district manager, efforts focused on advancing asset transfer procedures, converting dedicated transformers into public transformers, adding new power supply points, and optimizing meter box locations. The "one household, one meter" charging pile upgrade was successfully completed, fundamentally resolving three major issues: insufficient power capacity, high electricity costs, and difficulties in future capacity expansion. As a result, residents can now enjoy affordable, safe, and reliable electricity services.

Moving forward, State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company will continue focusing on public electricity needs and green development. By working closely with communities and property rights entities to build a collaborative governance mechanism, the company aims to efficiently solve various electricity-related challenges, promote knowledge of safe and energy-saving electricity use, and provide strong support for the high-quality economic and social development of Wenzhou through reliable power supply and precise services.
