Recently, news came from Geneva, Switzerland, that the Distributed Cloud Function Test Suite (Project No. ITU-T Q.DC-FT-TS), proposed under the leadership of State Grid Hubei Information & Telecommunication Company, successfully passed the review of a relevant ITU-T study group and was included in the ITU-T work programme.

Distributed cloud technology extends cloud computing capabilities to the network edge, enabling data to be processed closer to where it is generated, resources to be coordinated and scheduled efficiently, and services to work across domains. Responding to the actual needs of the power sector, the company conducted an in-depth analysis of typical application scenarios, repeatedly evaluated technical approaches, and continuously refined the standard framework and test requirements. The proposal successfully passed domestic reviews, industry expert evaluations, and multiple rounds of international review by ITU-T.

In response to technical questions raised by experts from various countries, the company's "Red Net Shield" team addressed each issue and refined the proposal point by point. These efforts ultimately secured international recognition for the proposal and advanced it into the formal standard development phase.

The draft standard focuses on six functional groups: connection management, service orchestration, service capabilities, resource abstraction and control, global management, and edge cloud management. It systematically defines test objects, test scenarios, test procedures, and criteria for determining test results, providing a unified international technical basis for product R&D, system development, functional verification, and project acceptance. It will provide strong support for interoperability among systems from different vendors and across different geographical regions.

Moving forward, State Grid Hubei Information & Telecommunication Company will work with relevant organizations at home and abroad to further refine the standard text. At the same time, the company will leverage the expertise of the Red Net Shield team to further develop and validate test scenarios, procedures, and evaluation methods, with the aim of promoting the early publication and implementation of the standard.
